Please keep my daddy's job in your prayers right now. He is working extremely hard to meet the needs of our family, but there is very little work out there in his industry - at least any that has income;)
We are definitely having to look to God for all our needs and thankfully He will provide them as He always has. Even so, my daddy could use some blessing and encouragement! If you could please pray for that, I know that he would be blessed!!
It's a good reminder for me that we need to look to Jesus when times are both good and bad... Compared to the people in Haiti, we are so very rich in "stuff" but we really are rich in Spirit too because we have Jesus Christ in our hearts. We're rich in health. The Lord is merciful and He always provides. What a blessing and comfort!!!
Thank you so much for your prayers:)

Praise!
Thank you all for praying for our Pastor, his wife and their son! They are all alright, it turns out the son's computer (their means of communicating with us) crashed so they had not been able to contact us. Praise the Lord! Thanks again!

Praise Report for Tori!
Thank you all so much for your prayers thus far! Little Tori is doing amazingly well. After the surgery last Wednesday the surgeon told them he was sure he left some of the tumor tissue in, so they did an MRI to see what was left. NOTHING! The tumor is gone!
They are still awaiting the pathology report but they were able to send her home yesterday since she was nursing on her own. As soon as they figure out what they are dealing with, we will know more, but for now she is resting/recovering comfortably at home.
We visited her in the hospital over the weekend and she was looking great. She was tracking objects and moving all of her little limbs. She has a large incision in the back of her head. They actually had to leave a large piece of bone out because it had crumbled from the rapid expansion of her head before the surgery. Apparently its in a location that it won’t matter as she grows.
What a miracle! It is so wonderful to see the Hand of God at work in this family! Thank you again for your continued prayers!

Pastor, Wife and Son...
Please pray for my pastor and his wife and son. The son is a short-term missionary in a very dangerous country. His parents went to visit him for about a week, but no one has heard from them for several days. They were going to try to contact someone in the church as often as possible while they were there, and this is just strange to not have heard anything from them.
We are very concerned. Please pray that if they are in danger, that the Lord would help them shine for Him, and that if it is His will, they will all come back to us safely. If not, please pray that they will have the courage to boldly face whatever comes and be examples for Him, and that those of us who are left behind will be able to accept with grace whatever the Lord's will is.

BRESMA Orphanage in Haiti
In Port-au-Prince, Haiti, there are two sisters, Jamie (30) and Ali (21), who have been running an orphanage for three years. The orphanage houses about 120 children.
Because of the earthquake Jamie, Ali, and the children have moved to the yard of the orphanage and are running out of supplies (such as diapers etc.)... Most recently they are now out of water and the little ones will not survive without clean water for more than a few days.
Please keep the Orphanage of BRESMA in your prayers! Please pray for these children and these young ladies as the Lord leads.

Lifting up a Sister in the Lord
Please pray for me because I have many decisions I have to make and some issues I have to work out.

Shelove and Shleida (Haitian sponser sisters)
My family has been sponsoring two little girls from Haiti for about a year and a half now. As you probably know, Haiti had a 7.0 earthquake last Tuesday, and it's REALLY bad. We know that one of our sponsor sisters, Shelove, is way north of the earthquake, and probably didn't feel it real bad. But the other, little Shleida(Jane), lives within the red part of a map we found showing what areas where worst hit. She lives in the extreme zone.
Please, please pray that our two little girls are safe. They say that they can't even get relief trucks into the areas most hit because of the rubble. Their worst problem is lack of clean water, and because it's so warm, disease. There are a LOT of people trapped, and buried under buildings. We probably won't be able to get word of Shelove and Shleida for some time. I put up a post on He Keeps Me Singing with details and pictures. Also, if you have time, click the button on my sidebar, 'Hope for Haiti'. Thank you SOOOO much for starting this blog!
May God Bless You,

Chip and Susan Waynne
Please pray for Chip and Susan Wynne from our church. Chip has admittedly been an alcoholic for about the past 20 years. He was picked up this Friday at a DUI check and put in the county jail for the weekend. The judge commuted his sentence on Monday until he goes to treatment.
Chip must decide to do this or go back to jail. Right now, however, he is going through a literal hell as his body goes through detoxification from constant use of alcohol. Tuesday afternoon, he was rushed from the jail to the ER (result of detox treatments) and is now in the hospital’s constant care unit. Both a doctor and a nurse have told us that alcohol withdrawal is the most dangerous kind and can even be fatal.
Please pray for Chip and Susan (his wife). Susan has found him a rehab program that we pray he will go to. He is a nice man with a great personality and creative mind that is currently being blanketed by his terrible addiction; however, as far as we know, he is not currently a believer, although Susan is. So please pray that this all would cause him to turn to God, repent of his addiction, and realize that Jesus alone can save you. Thank you!

Update on Tori
Tori was in surgery for 10 hours yesterday – until 7:30 last night. They had to give her 1 blood transfusion. They were not able to get all of the tumor so they aren’t sure when they will have to go back in. They sent a specimen to pathology so they are awaiting the results right now. She is still in the hospital on the respirator until they figure out what to do next. They think they know what it is and in children her age it is usually benign (lets hope so!). Regardless, she will probably need chemo. The MRI showed none had gotten into her spinal cord at this point. Just please keep her parents in your prayer during this very trying time. One good thing: Angie (her mom) is out of vacation since she used it for her maternity leave, but people here at work have donated 140 hours of their vacation to her so far already!
Keep praying! The prayers are so appreciated by this family!

Tori
A lady at our work just took her daughter (Tori) in for a 4 month check up yesterday (she is only 4 months old!) and they found a brain tumor. She is having brain surgery right now (7:30 am this morning) and it will probably take all day. Please send this out so people can pray for her and her family. They aren't sure what it is yet, and she may need chemo, etc once the surgery is over.
Per the surgeon the tumor is ¾ of her head – base of the brain to the left side. She is in surgery now – could take 5, 8 up to 10 hours. Surgeon did not know exactly what they were dealing with yet. We don’t know if the tumor is attached to veins & cord. Hopefully Not!
We will keep you updated - please pray for little Tori and her family.

Rachel's Praise!
Earlier, I had asked for prayer regarding my thyroid medication. Well, I have more medication! :D Praise God! :D My dad called the pharmacy, and they allowed us to get more...without the insurance! Even though the paperwork I had said it only cost $15, the pharmacy said it would be $39! Ooo, that was hard. :( But then, Praise the Lord again!, the lady said that we could sign up for a program which was $9.99 and our first prescription would be free! :D So we only had to pay $9.99! And, I now have enough medication for 3 more months! :D That is now plenty of time for God to work out the insurance stuff. :) So I am feeling much more relieved and so much less worried. :)
I soooo appreciate all your prayers! :) That means so much to me! I knew God would provide, in His time, but sometimes it's hard that to live that belief out. This past week has been one of those times when I was struggling to have faith that "all things work together for good". My flesh is soo weak at times...I am so forever grateful for a loving and forgiving Lord who watches over me and takes care of me. :) And so thankful for my dear supportive friends and sister's in the Lord. :) Thank you!

Rachel
First, I want to thank all those who have prayed for me over the past months. He has helped my with my thyroid troubles that I was diagnosed with in August. Now, I feel so much better, more alive, and much more healthy! :) I can exercise again and have lot's more energy, for which I am soo thankful or! :) The ways I have been blessed would just take up too much of this post. ;)
But I do have a prayer request as well now. My insurance for my health was taken away for silly reasons recently. I am on medication to help my thyroid condition. But, in a short time, I will be without medication again as I will be running out in a week. :P Having no medication means I will have my weird hormones back again and not feeling good all over again. :( Then when I get insurance back and get more pills, I'll have to go through months of trying to get better again.
We are allowed to submit the insurance application papers again to reapply, but this takes time and I only have about a week's worth of pills left (I'm trying not to worry). I feel like the widow with the little bit of oil from the bible. :)
I know God can help us, that I must rely on His strength and timing in all of this. But it's a little frustrating when I just started to feel really good and have been able to accomplish so much of late. Much more than I used to be able to. It has also been helping me to lose weight (not much at present, but before, all I did was slowly gain even with lot's of healthy eating and exercise!).
Anyway, if you all could pray hard for me (spiritually, emotionally, physically) and that the papers could be gotten all through and taken care of quickly and that He would provide the insurance again for me and my family...I would be so grateful. :) I know we serve a big God and if it's in His will, then He can provide in this matter. :)
Love and Hugs to you all!Trusting in Him!~Rachel~

Kara Faith
Please pray for Kara Faith who was diagnosed in utero at 15 weeks with Alobar Holoprosencephaly (HPE). This is a malformation of the brain and hers is the most severe type.
"We serve a BIG God and are thankful for the gift of her life.
Born on January 8th, 2010 ~ 6:42 a.m. via C Section ~ 5 pounds, 14 ounces ~ I will post more information soon... Kara is in the NICU and is on the vent, but breathing room air. Please pray for us and Kara in the days to come. It will be hard to leave the hospital without her tomorrow(which is the 11th)..."

Update on Hope
As many of you have read over at Hope's blog, the lumbar puncture showed that the cancer had spread into her spine. However, the Dr.'s have hope for a 40-50% chance complete recovery! We can keep praying for that! Here's a little update below from her blog~
We sat down with all of Hope's doctors to discuss the outcome of the scans in more detail. Hope's main Dr started by saying that surgery is not usually an option due to the location of the remaining tumor. However after reviewing the most recent images in greater detail, he believes that considering Hope's age and health, it is a worthwhile option. The bottom line is, the benefits of surgery far outweigh the risks of not having it done. Hope has no other options left if she wants a chance at life. Being fourteen, is it up to Hope to decide if she wants the surgery. She said straight away that she did. We all feel more comfortable with this decision now that we have spoken to the Doctors. So, we are placing all our bets on surgery and then chemotherapy and radiation treatment. While the doctors are very optimistic, they are also very realistic.Because of where the tumour is, the surgery brings risks that Hope's mobility may be affected. The chemotherapy and radiation treatment also bring risks of infection, organ failure and many other things. The doctors are optimistic that Hope has a 40-50% chance of getting through the treatment as a whole. This gives us the hope that we need.

Laura and Hope
I have two prayer requests for you all. The first doesn't seem nearly as important as the second one, but I will still ask you to pray.
1) My youngest sister Laura (16 months) has never slept through the night well, but now she won't sleep at all. She won't take naps, and screams when we try to lay her down for bed...my mom and dad are praying and trying to figure out what is going on with her body, but I just ask for prayer; that the Lord would give my mom and dad sleep because they are EXHAUSTED, and that Laura would sleep for naps and at night! Thank you so much!
2) I read an update from Hope's mom today, and Hope was rushed in for surgery on Friday and had it on Saturday...PLEASE go to Hope's blog and pray for her, pray for her mom and strength for them both. They need Believers to lift them up during this time in their lives.
Thank you all ~ May the Lord Bless You! Also, if you have any prayer requests that we can pray for you about, please email me at onbentknees(at)gmail(dot)com. We are here for each other!
