"We needed to let you know that God has chosen to take this child home. We are left with many questions, most of which begin with “Why…” or “What if…” In time we hope to have some answers, but there are still many unknowns that we need to trust Him for - unknowns that will always be unknowns. It is amazing the hopes and dreams you can have for a little life even after just a few weeks" Nathan and Melanie Maxwell~

Keep them in your prayers...

"My best friends mom just had a miscarriage. That would have been her fifth child. They also have been living in a camper for more than four months. Please pray for the G. family that they will have peace and find a home soon. Thank you, Kathleen O"

"Melanie has begun again to have complications that usually indicate a pending miscarriage. We are seeking God’s will during these next days on what steps we should/shouldn’t take…. labs, ultra-sound, supplements, rest, waiting…. the list could go on."

Pray for Melanie Maxwell and the baby in her womb. She has high-risk pregnancy's and needs much prayer. Thank you!

Pray for Sara Sullivan's family. She gave birth three weeks early to a baby girl, on September 8 2009 named Chloe and went home to be with Jesus on September 22 2009, just 14 days after she had Chloe. Sara fought breast cancer for 8 months and was going through treatments while pregnant with Chloe.
Please keep Chloe and Sara's husband Brady in your prayers as they follow God's will for them and try to live life without their wife and momma.

I'm also enclosing another prayer request that they had on their blog for a friend.

"Last night, I got an email from friends in Italy. Some of our dear friends from our time in Osan, South Korea are in need of your prayers. The Friedman Family was stationed with us during our year in Korea, and from there moved to Aviano, Italy.Katie Friedman was due with their baby boy on the same day that Sara was supposed to deliver Chloe. Yesterday, Katie gave birth to their 2nd baby boy, named Quinn. Hours later, Katie died due to "bleeding complications" from birth. I do not have many details, but ask for your prayers for strength and peace for Jon and his 2 boys, Clark and Quinn."

Thank you for praying!

The accident happened when Isaac and Eva were out playing on a break from school. The had been riding their bikes up and down the driveway, and then Isaac came in and asked to get his BB gun out. Somehow, a BB bounced off a branch and hit Eva's eye.
After trips to two different hospitals, they have found that the BB hit the eye but did not penetrate it. It hit the pupil directly and they can see an indentation the exact side of the BB. It shaved off the cornea and detached the iris. She has had a severe bleed in her eye. The good news is that the retina has not been damaged. But, she is still at risk for a detached retina and has to be very still until she goes back to the doctor on Sunday morning. She is also still at risk for having another bleed, and in that case, they will have to do surgery to relieve pressure on the eye.

~Update~

We took Eva in to the doctor today and instead of her sight becoming clearer like they thought, she now has no vision out of her eye except for being able to distinguish movement and recognize light. My mom probably could explain it more, but for now they are sending her up to Children's Memorial in Chicago...

~Update from Sunday, October 18~

Eva, Therese and my Mom headed up to Chicago this evening, where Eva will be seeing a specialist and having surgery. They have not actually scheduled the surgery yet, since this happened over the weekend, but it is likely that she will be having it tomorrow. They will be reattaching the iris, washing the eye and removing a cataract that has already formed. Everyone's really wanting to do the surgery soon because of a blood clot that is in her eye. When this starts to break up, it will be intensely painful and cause a lot of pressure in the eye, which could lead to more severe problems. So, they are hoping to resolve all of that before it becomes an issue.

I will try to keep updates over here. Go to their Family Blog and let them know that you're praying for them!

If you could all pray for my friend Bethany she is coming down with a bad cold and with a judging competition coming up this Saturday, she needs to get rid of it so that she can talk and breathe! Please pray that she can fight it off and that she'll do well at her competition:)

Love you Bethany!

Hello! I'm back from my trip to the thyroid specialist! I am fine. I don't have anything new wrong with me! Hurrah! :D He said my thyroid is dying and to compensate for that, it is overworking causing my throat to swell up, but I will be fine with more medication. I am upping my dosage of meds a bit so we can find the right balance to get my thyroid level right (more blood tests too). The Dr. said that I will have this condition and be on these meds the rest of my life. So, there's that. The good news is that I won't ever need a surgery or anything like that. He said diet change won't help/hurt the thyroid any, so that's out (I was hoping I could go off the meds by a diet change or that it would improve by eating certain foods etc.). But that doesn't mean I can't try to eat better anyway, as having a thyroid that doesn't work does cause weight gain (yeah, that's what I'm blaming it on, not all the goodies I bake! Lol!) ;) So, there it is. I will have to get blood work done every 6 months for the rest of my life as well to keep track of this and make sure my thyroid levels are all right. Not looking forward to that, but I am so thankful that this seems pretty minor all in all. Thank you all so much for praying for me! I greatly appreciate it! :D I was a bit nervous, but the Dr.s office was very nice and the ladies at the desk were so sweet, that I felt comfortable almost right away. :)

I have an appointment to see a specialist this Wednesday (the 7th) for my thyroid disease at 12:15 EST. I have been on medication for a month and have had great amounts of energy which I didn't know that I was lacking! Even being able to do things that I haven't felt like doing for some time now! I hope that this means I am doing well, but I can't be sure until the appointment tomorrow. Please pray for my nerves and for a good report!
Thank you all so much!God Bless!

My grandmother had high blood pressure last month and was admitted to the hospital. She was given some blood pressure medication and it seemed to be working, but my aunt phoned us and said that it had gone up again and that they had found out that she has an enlarged heart. She was got tested for her kidney's and her bladder, but those results have not come back yet. Please keep her in your prayers! It's so difficult to watch her failing health, as she has always been in excellent health, not even getting a cold very often. She is in her late 80's. Also please keep my mom in your prayers, this is all very hard on her and very stressful. My aunt, as well, as she is the one taking care of her each day and taking her to appointments, etc. This is our only surviving grandparent, so she means so much to us! Please pray for healing!

Justin is doing excellent! He is improving faster than the doctors thought and is steadily gaining weight. He was born at 2.6 pounds, and now he is 3.9 pounds! He is eating the maximum amount of food allowed for his age and size! We are thanking and praising God, because some babies cannot handle even breast milk at that age. We are very thankful that so many people have been praying for him! And my mom... she is doing pretty good too. She's had a lot of stress through the whole thing, especially since her and my dad have been driving to Hutzel Hospital (which is a 2 hour 40 minute round trip) every single night. Again, thanks for your prayers!

Kevin

Thanks for the update, Kevin! We are praising Jesus that Justin is doing so well!

I felt like I should share a prayer that has been on my heart for a while now. it is so sad to me how much our country is straying from the very things that we were originally founded on. I hope and pray that we, as a nation, will stand fast on the Constitution, and go back to rebuilding our country on the faith that it began with. If it is in God's will to judge our nation, I pray that Christians would wake up and hear His cry for their hearts.

Update on Ridgerunner's Dad. First, read part 1 Here :

"He went in for his second cat scan yesterday and they said that the tumor isn't much bigger, but isn't showing any signs of going into remission so the hospital is searching for another neurosurgeon who's willing to start treatment - radiation or surgery - since the first surgeon they assigned him to refused to treat him, considers it a waste of efforst with Dad's bad heart."

Keep praying.
